Story of..."the Artist"

At 10, Artist Maasai Rees-Tabari had her first life drawing art class at the Arts Students League, in NYC. She went to Brooklyn Technical H.S. and attended college at School of Visual Arts, NYC.

 

In college Maasai created functional scuptural funiture; so in 2012, it was natural that she began designing gifts for friends with her art printed upon select functional products, which led to opening this addtional type of art.

 

She introduces her art to viewers through various venues, including, traditional art gallery exhibits, solo/group shows and since 2006 she has been on the world-wide-web and today she has several online websites that host her work.

 

Maasai's entire body of work includes the use of many mediums, such as, pencil/graphite, oil & water color crayons, charcoal, chalk pastels, acrylic & oil paint, mixed media, collages, draw or painted on wood, paper, or canvas; most recently, she's begun to work digitally, on a tablet.

 

Artist Maasai is creating digital work with a professional drawing tablet and iPad-Air, with design software programs including: Art-Rage, Sketcbook-Pro, Procreate, Sketchclub, Inspire-Pro, Adobe Ideas, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
